FINOS announced that the SDLC Common Controls Catalog (SDLC³) has become an official FINOS incubating project, developed under the foundation’s DevOps Automation Special Interest Group. The catalog is a shared, open reference library of software development life cycle governance controls for financial services, aimed at the industry’s fragmented control landscape: duplicated effort as each institution implements controls independently, the lack of a common vocabulary, controls that drift over time, and requirements that are either too generic to be actionable or too specific to be reused. It supplies common definitions, reference implementations, adoption guidance and a modular catalog that firms can tailor while keeping their own internal requirements, with the live catalog at sdlc-common-controls.finos.org and documentation on GitHub. The project is community-driven, with bi-weekly Monday calls alternating between regular sessions and three-hour workshops and a public mailing list for participation.
