The Apereo Foundation welcomed BookLooky into its incubation program on 15 October 2026. BookLooky is an emerging open source project that aims to make book content information more accessible, consistent and transparent for readers, libraries, schools and publishers, promising that readers can know what is inside a book before page one. Its Looky Rating System describes a book across six Content Intensity categories – violence, romance, language, mental health, substance use and fear – plus four Story attributes, taking a no-spoilers approach that avoids revealing plot developments or offering the subjective opinions common in traditional reviews.
