COSMIC stops accepting LLM-generated content in pull requests

System76's COSMIC desktop project changed its pull request template to require contributors to confirm that a submission contains no LLM-generated content, including code, comments and descriptions, and that missing confirmations may lead to the pull request being closed. Maintainer Jeremy Soller said the change was driven by review workload rather than opposition to AI tools in general, describing a rise in unplanned LLM-assisted submissions from first-time contributors that were rarely accepted. Contributors must also confirm they understand the changes, can answer review feedback, have tested the work and certify it under the Developer Certificate of Origin, and the cosmic-flatpak repository is exempt because upstream projects maintain their own manifests.
