Court filings reveal WordPress.org's 'Mission Control' dashboard tracked WP Engine's ACF Pro installs

The Repository reports that newly public testimony in WP Engine v. Automattic describes "Mission Control," a password-protected WordPress.org dashboard fed by the anonymized update-check data that WordPress sites send by default, which WP Engine lawyers showed graphing active installs of its ACF Pro plugin even though WordPress.org does not host it. The filings also include an August 2024 Slack message in which Matt Mullenweg raised a possible "partnerships/merger/M&A" exit weeks before his WordCamp US keynote, and the sanctions hearing in the case is now set for October 7.
