The ELISA (Enabling Linux In Safety Applications) Fund, a Linux Foundation umbrella organization for using Linux and other open source software in safety-critical applications, announced at Open Source Summit Europe in Prague that Cregit and stress-ng are joining its ecosystem. Cregit analyzes the history and evolution of Linux kernel code, while stress-ng provides hundreds of stress tests for evaluating Linux system behavior, reliability and performance. Linux Foundation dependable embedded systems VP Kate Stewart and ELISA technical steering committee chair Philipp Ahmann framed the additions as broadening the practical tools the community can collaborate on across the software safety lifecycle, and ELISA is helping lead the Safe Systems with Linux microconference at the Linux Plumbers Conference in Prague on October 5-7.
