Phoronix reports that Qualcomm hiring Red Hat’s top x86_64 Linux laptop developer, Hans de Goede, is paying off in improved Fedora Linux support for Qualcomm Snapdragon X powered hardware, with Fedora 45 due in October expected to deliver a much smoother experience on Snapdragon X1 AArch64 images as more vendor-supported Snapdragon X code reaches the mainline kernel. De Goede had already worked on the Snapdragon X1 experience for Fedora 44, and he notes Snapdragon X2 support is only beginning to land upstream, so X2 will depend on future kernel versions.
