GPUMD maintainer Zheyong Fan opened a consent request to relicense the source and header files under src/, including subdirectories, from the GNU GPL to LGPL-3.0-or-later, based on the GPUMD 5.9 revision, saying the LGPL’s more flexible linking terms would make the molecular-dynamics code easier to integrate with other software while it stays free and open source and existing third-party licenses and notices are preserved. The proposal is planned for the 5.9.1 release once the necessary permissions are obtained, and the issue tracks opt-in consent replies from the listed contributors.
