HashiCorp archives the Boundary Community Edition repository

HashiCorp has archived the GitHub repository for Boundary Community Edition, saying the open source project is no longer under active development and that future Boundary work will focus on its commercial HCP Boundary and Boundary Enterprise products. The repository was made read-only and no longer accepts new issues, pull requests or community contributions, and HashiCorp says no new CE releases, maintenance updates, bug fixes or security patches are planned. Existing source code and previously released binaries remain available for reference and self-managed use, but the company tells teams still running CE to evaluate whether it meets their operational, security and compliance requirements. HashiCorp directs users who want supported capabilities such as production-scale governance, compliance, session recording and enterprise support to HCP Boundary and Boundary Enterprise, pushing the identity-based access-management tool further behind its paid offerings.
