The Rust Leadership Council’s September 2026 update reports that the council allocated an additional $120,000 to its Funding team on top of $50,000 committed earlier, money that together with the Rust Foundation Maintainers Fund financially supported seven contributors — five Maintainers in Residence and two Maintenance Grantees. It also records the six-monthly council representative election results for the Infrastructure, Language, Library, and Moderation teams and notes that an October vote will choose two new Rust Foundation Project Directors.
