Open Mercato closes its first funding round with $1M from its founders

Open Mercato announced its first funding round, $1 million put in by founders Tomasz Karwatka and Piotr Karwatka from their own money, to build out its open-source AI-engineering framework for custom CRM and ERP business applications. The founders said they are declining outside investment to keep independence and avoid board pressure, and touted early traction including more than 1,600 GitHub stars, 130-plus contributors and 27 certified partner agencies running client implementations, arguing AI coding agents reopened the enterprise-software window that incumbent open-source ERPs such as Odoo, ERPNext and Apache OFBiz have held for two decades.
