Siemens says it is closing out four years of community-driven development of the open source OpenRadioss solver and consolidating Radioss work inside its commercial Simcenter portfolio, pointing production users to the paid Simcenter Radioss product and launching the Simcenter Radioss R&D Program, described as a managed “Shared Source” environment for academic and industrial partners. The change was widely read as the end of OpenRadioss as an openly licensed solver.
