Some Networking Fixes Being Diverted To Linux 7.4, AI/LLM Activity Still Increasing

Phoronix reports that Linux networking developers say they are "completely overwhelmed" by AI- and LLM-driven patch activity and bug reports, with fixes now being retargeted from Linux 7.3 to the 7.4 cycle instead of landing non-urgent changes. Red Hat's Paolo Abeni noted that traffic on the mailing list keeps increasing and that pushing work back to subsystems is not immediate, while legitimate networking fixes, including slab-out-of-bounds reads and wired and WiFi driver bugs, still merged for 7.3-rc6.
