The SONiC Foundation, the Linux Foundation-hosted open source network operating system project, announced that Lenovo, NADDOD and Zhanwang (NEXAI) joined as General Members, citing AI and HPC demand for network bandwidth, latency, reliability and observability. Lenovo is building SONiC-based automation and AI-driven operations around Redis, SAI, telemetry, BGP EVPN and RoCE and plans to contribute deployment experience and platform enhancements; NADDOD runs SONiC across its AI data center switch portfolio and plans SAI enhancements, interoperability testing and reference architectures; and NEXAI is porting SONiC to its networking products with planned upstream work on RDMA and RoCE, Priority Flow Control, SRv6 and AI network observability. The new members join ahead of the OCP Global Summit 2026 on October 12-15 in San Jose.
